Basement conversions styles can vary:

Retro fit - All house / flats without existing basements/cellars can have new habitable rooms in the ground.

Basement Conversion - Where an existing cellar needs to be extended in both height and area creating new habitable rooms.

Basement refurbishment - Where an existing cellar / basement requires waterproofing and making habitable.

In some boroughs front lightwells with railings are not acceptable by the local authority, in which case a front lightwell with a grill at floor level must be created in order to provide additional light and ventilation which will be designed by The Basement Masters' creative design team to blend in with your property.
